Album Cover Task

I chose to use Cocorosie as the band for my album cover because I felt that their sound would best relate to the design I had in mind. Their music can be mysterious, whimsical, sweet and unnerving all at the same time.

I started off with an inky image from an old art project and brought up the contrast a little. I then brought other images of flowers and a friend. I then played with the Pin Light and Subtract opacity options. I created the text layers with an overlay to bring them back into the image, then duplicated them a couple of times so that they were more contrasting.

It was a very similar process with the back cover.
What I've done is not very technical at all, however I'm quite content with the final imagery.

Itchy motion

Today, we learnt how to use motion. We used this Itchy short film for practice. Firstly, we removed the green fill. We then used Primatte Rt and created a rectangle over the screen. We then used blend and subtracted 2 semi circles and one in the centre. After using oscillate on position x, we had our finished product.

Change is freedom

Today was an experimentation with animation in photoshop. We learnt how to make use of animation frames, playing with the opacity, style, timing and positioning.

Rubbish

For our first assignment we were to create a font using rubbish.
I brainstormed on what rubbish meant to me.
The first thing that came to mind was that it was suffocating our world.
My initial idea was to create the imagery of a world suffocating and strangled in rubbish along with the text 'our world is suffocating'.
I'm really very, very new to photoshop and soon realized that creating that imagery was quite out of my depth.
My then decided to fill the 'suffocating' text with rubbish that I'd taken photo's with my mac.
I drew an image of the world for the back ground and dropped that in over the notepad page layer. I added the the text, remembering to create two layers so that the rubbish imagery would fill just the 'suffocating' text.
I then brought in the rubbish imagery and added a 'create clipping mask' layer so that it would fill through the text.

Overall, I'm not very content with my finished product. This is largely due to my inapt skills of photoshop. I look forward to learning how to use photoshop more effectively so that I can produce and manipulate an artwork that relates more closely to my original idea.

Toastcase

Today is my first blog which marks my first visual deign class.
Today we were asked to use an image of a piece of toast and place it in to any particular environment of choice. We used the quick selection tool to take away any background from the toast.

On the second image we then used paint bucket, vignette and an overlay layer. The toast was then dropped into the second image to create the desired image.
